Full Job Description

The post-holder will be carrying out clinical work across education and community settings in specific geographical locations. The role requires the post-holder to provide interventions for children, young people or families using child centred, evidence-based interventions. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages and should be committed to equity, diversity and inclusion.

About the Role : We are looking to expand our thriving community of creative arts therapists and holistic counsellors to support children and young people with our newly commissioned Emotional Based School Attendance (EBSA) program across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The roles are best suited for applicants that can work autonomously, balancing a busy caseload, including travel and supervision. Nessie provides counselling and arts therapies (Art, Drama, Music and Play) to support the mental health of children, young people and their families. You will be required to provide clinical work in a range of education and community settings face to face and online when needed.

Travelling between multiple settings is a requirement of the role. You are also required to attend termly staff meetings in person.

Purpose:

This job has arisen due to a rise in need from schools and families for targeted, coordinated therapeutic provision in schools (both mainstream and SEND settings) and community settings across Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. Successful candidates will work closely with other Nessie staff and in partnership with local agencies. This role is part of a strategic plan to increase support in line with local transformation plans.

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The provision of 1-1 and group Arts Therapy

  • Travelling between settings to deliver targeted support

  • To offer regular staff and parent meetings as appropriate

  • Work closely with behaviour services, Attendance; educational; social care; ASD/ SEND and local agencies and maintain positive working relationships with all individuals around the child providing support in line with IThrive model: https://www.healthyyoungmindsinherts.org.uk/professionals/what-ithrive

  • To work closely with the Manager to plan a systemic, transparent, and fair support across the area with consultation from statutory services

  • Attend regular supervision and termly staff meetings

  • To work closely as part of a small team to gather feedback both qualitative and quantitative that informs the development work, It will be the duty of every employee while at work to take reasonable care for the Health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.   • Disclosure and Barring Service This post is classed as having a high degree of contact with children or vulnerable adults and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
