Back-End Engineer - Credit Risk Analytics Team

We are looking for a Back-End Engineer who is enthusiastic about creating remarkable back-end infrastructure, motivated to join a vibrant team, and thrilled to be transforming the landscape of small business financing at iwoca. The role will require you to:

• Design and create web-based microservices that contain business-critical functionality.


• They will need to integrate with existing lending processes using RESTful API calls. You will maintain business continuity by deploying incremental changes with continuous testing and monitoring.


• Collaborate with Credit Analysts to enhance their work by defining new features and capturing new data to make better lending decisions.


• Improve the internal business logic that underpins iwoca's automated lending flow. For example, you'll work on the logic that implements automated checks and routes applications to different logical subsystems.
  
  Essential:


• Proficiency in Python 3, with a strong background in back-end engineering.


• Experience with the Django web framework and Object Relational Mapping (ORM) with a PostgreSQL database back end.


• Experience in creating and integrating web services using REST API's.


Bonus:

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including containerisation and CI/CD processes


• Experience working with predictive models using pandas dataframes.


• A strong numerate background, i.e. maths, physics, computer science, engineering, or similar.
