Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Safety Manager to join our Asset Management Team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Director of Asset Management & Regeneration and the Head of Compliance to further develop Watmos' building safety framework and ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements pertaining to our residential and corporate assets.,

  • Support the 'responsible person' in achieving alignment with all regulatory and legislative responsibilities for Watmos' residential and corporate asset base across all areas of responsibility. (fire safety, asbestos management and water safety).

  • Lead in the implementation of Watmos' fire, asbestos and water safety statutory requirements, regulatory obligations and policy commitments.

  • Produce and maintain building safety cases for relevant buildings.

  • Lead in the management of building safety in accordance with the 'safety case', looking after the day-to-day management of fire and structural safety of high-rise residential buildings.

  • Be an established clear point of contact for residents and other stakeholders for fire and safety related issues.

  • Facilitate the discharge of statutory duties in relation to building safety.

  • Producing, validating and completion of the fire safety remediation survey return to the Regulator of Social Housing.

  • Ensure clear and fit for purpose processes are in place with established roles and responsibilities in relation to maintaining records, managing assets and building safety.

  • Support and enable residents - ensuring residents can understand what to expect from their Building Safety Manager.

  • Produce monthly performance and assurance reports for areas of responsibility.

    The ideal candidate will bring experience in building risk management, along with comprehensive knowledge of building construction and pertinent legislation such as the Building Safety Act and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Moreover, strong written verbal communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills, proficiency in report writing, negotiation acumen, analytical aptitude, commercial understanding, problem-solving capabilities and IT proficiency are qualities we seek.
