Full Job Description

Rev Up Brands is looking for a new member to join our busy Procurement Team as a Buyer. Sharing our passion for creative arts, we are looking for an experienced Buyer who will put the customer requirements at the centre of the product offer to develop and deliver a commercial and profitable range that maximises sales opportunity.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for agreeing and supporting the delivery of the sourcing plan; optimising the best route for product and negotiating with the Supply base to deliver better values, cost prices and lead time.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering our mission to Make Passion Possible for Dance Teachers and their students, thorough your commitment, drive, and ideally - love of Dance!

  • Analyse and evaluate sales performance of product, reviewing current sales with the planners, reacting appropriately to maximise sales opportunity; trading the business;

  • Develop and implement strategy with your team;

  • Implement customer focused ranges in line with the agreed commercial strategy;

  • Lead the product development process, and build range plans from strategy to launch;

  • Assist with the product development process from brief to launch;

  • Develop supplier/sourcing strategies that demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of product and supply base;

  • Build and maintain good relationships with supply base;

  • Negotiate the best cost price to achieve margin targets and react to market conditions to protect profit;

  • Maintain all aspects of the critical path to ensure deadlines are achieved;

  • Agree packaging requirements and presentation of product;

  • Monitor, maintain and action a full competitor analysis, and present ideas to gain competitor advantage;

  • Understand product trends and interpreting them where relevant;

  • Motivate, train and develop direct reports.

    Significant retail buying experience and management experience (required);

  • Proven commercial track record in sales and profit growth;

  • Experience in critical path management , with the foresight to take corrective action to resolve issues with key stakeholders;

  • Experience in supplier relationship management, for FOB and Domestic supply base;

  • Knowledge of all the elements that make up the cost of a product;

  • Solid negotiation and influencing skills;

  • Ability to put together a comprehensive and clear design brief (in conjunction with Product Developers);

  • Proficient in Excel.


  • Ideally this role will be based in our Newton Abbot offices, however hybrid will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
