Café / Shop Assistant

Here at the Derbyshire Emporium, we aim to serve and celebrate all things Derbyshire. We sell several outstanding products from local suppliers and have a cozy tearoom with a panoramic window offering fascinating views of central Bakewell. We are looking for a part time assistant which will include weekend working.

We're looking for a new member to join our established team to help in our café and Derbyshire shop. The role will include making and preparing small snacks, hot & cold drinks for the café, plus full customer service in our retail area. Cash handling, cashing up tills, re stocking shelves with new suppliers.

Duties:

- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders

- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently

- Prepare and serve beverages and light snacks

- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the cafe area

- Handle cash transactions and operate the till

- Assist in restocking inventory and monitoring stock levels

Previous experience in a customer-facing role is advantageous but not essential

- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

- A friendly and approachable demeanour

While experience is a bonus, full training is provided. The right candidate will have a positive outlook, a solid work ethic and will enjoy interacting with the public.
