We have an exciting new opportunity here at Poundstretcher for a keen Creative Graphic / Packaging Designer to join our Design team. It's a truly exciting time here at HQ, with lots of new faces and goals to change perceptions of our well-known discount retail brand.

We develop a lot of our own products which we know we can make look amazing with the right designer. You'll also be heavily involved with re-shaping our marketing offering across all platforms to update and shape our overall brand - a very exciting opportunity for the right person!

We'd like someone who has a good eye for design and style to help us create great looking affordable products that look irresistible on our store shelves. We're looking for someone with experience in packaging design and brand creation. You will be able to research and pitch visual ideas, create mock-ups of design concepts for sign off, then develop initial concepts into final print ready artwork. you will also be required to create marketing material / campaigns to support product launches.

We are also looking for someone who is competent at putting great design for print together with a flair for page layout. Creating engaging sales driven items of promotional print design ranging from leaflets to flyers will come as second nature to you.

Role and responsibilities:

Your role will need to change and adapt with the needs of the business. Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Develop unique innovative ideas through sketching, mock ups, visuals / presentations and


  • convert into achievable retail solutions
  • Create innovative on trend eye catching packaging design

  • Create innovative on trend unique product designs

  • Create visual merchandising tools including CDUs

  • Create and develop well-conceived Brand Identities with robust guidelines


  • for our in-house brands
  • Ability to suggest names for new ranges / new brands

  • Review current ranges and suggest improvements where needed

  • Liaise with all relevant departments throughout design processes

  • Create arresting sales driven items for print

  • Willingness to share skills and techniques with our other designers

  • Focus on driving fresh brand awareness and footfall to stores

  • Ability to create compelling marketing material / content for social media, website,


  • promotional emails, and the creation of in store and exterior POS
  • Taking photographs of products for packaging requirements when necessary

  • Create short promo animations using Adobe After Effects / Premiere Pro

  • Supporting the wider business where needed

    It is essential that you have a history and experience of packaging and product design.

  • You must be a natural at page layout with a great eye for detail and excellent typography


  • skills when putting together sales driven promotional material
  • A design for print background is essential with a strong understanding of


  • print production processes
  • Must be fluent with Adobe suite - this is essential (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)

  • Great copy writing skills with the ability to grab attention with a sense of fun

  • Able to turn your hand to digital media graphics if needed (animation/GIFs would be
