Full Job Description

A PC Desktop Technician role accountable to the Desktop Support Manager. The role is to work within the Desktop Support team to implement and maintain customer focused support for the University PC Scheme. The role holder will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of PCs as part of the Staff PC Scheme and Teaching Centre upgrades. Liaising with external suppliers on the delivery and ongoing maintenance of IT equipment. The role holder will liaise closely with the Service Desk to ensure that all PC related requests and incidents are progressed, through call tracking, communication, and escalation where appropriate. You will use your knowledge of IT systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner or re-direct to the appropriate team as required within agreed response times. Providing remote and face to face support as required. Assistance with the implementation of projects initiated by the Operations team will be required. The role holder will have good

knowledge in the following:

  • PC hardware

  • Windows 10/11, iOS

  • Microsoft Office 2016, 2019, 365
