General Maintenance Person

We are looking for a maintenance person to support our residential care homes in Great Barr. Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

· Repairs and enhancements to company facilities and equipment

· Install and maintain equipment that is to be used at the company facilities

· Plumbing - un-blocking sinks, traps and waste pipes, maintenance of taps, repair and replacement of toilets, sinks, showers and baths

· Painting and Decorating to a high standard

· Joinery- first line maintenance of fixtures and fittings

· Electrics - fitting of plugs and sockets to appliances, in accordance with H&S guidelines

· Clean and test light fittings and systems, replacing where necessary minor parts such as tubes, bulbs, fuses starters and diffusers, in accordance with safe working practices

· Ensure that gullies and drains are kept free from debris and that the home grounds are litter free

· Responsible for ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access to the home, particularly in adverse weather conditions

· Maintain Company facility gardens and driveways

· Dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner ensuring that it is available for collection as required
