Move More Falls Prevention Volunteer

Supporting the Instructors to ensure the health and safety of the participants at all times.

Supporting the participants who attend the Move More sessions

Collecting personal information for health questionnaires, assessment forms and having conversations, and feeding back to the team.

Preparing for the session, room, refreshments, completing the online register, recording homework and updating the iCareiMove managers.

Duties:

• Help to set up the room, chairs, tables, equipment, heating, open, close windows, jugs of water, cups.


• Take the register if required.


• Meet and greet, take coats etc and show participants to the room or chairs.


• Chat with the participants and act as a 'listening ear'.


• Observe and help to give out bands, mats and help to move chairs if required during the session.


• Observe during the session, in a 'no contact' way.


• Escort participants out to the toilet possibly but will not assist or accompany into the toilet in any way.


• Assist with refreshments at the end of the session.


• Clear away and help to secure the venue if required.


• Set up the pre-recorded session in the event that an Instructor is absent, and the live class cannot be delivered., Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer position. The sessions you will volunteering to support will be 2 hour sessions and your expenses will be paid. We value your time and commitment, and we will provide you with meaningful experiences, networking opportunities, and personal growth.
  
  Previous experience or a willingness to support older adults


• Excellent communication skills, empathy, kindness and a positive attitude.
  
  iCareiMove is a Falmouth-based company committed to improving the health and well-being of Cornish residents, particularly focusing on falls prevention among the elderly. The Move More program, which is fully funded by Public Health England over the next 3 -5 years, offers a progressive and engaging course to enhance balance, strength, and overall quality of life.
