On-Street e-Bike Monitor

Reporting to our Shop Manager, our on-street e-Bike Operative will contribute an essential set of skills by supporting our on-street operations. This role underpins the logistics of the e-bike service, ensuring the availability and balance of hire vehicles across all schemes. Effectively supporting battery swapping at key times, whilst carrying out checks and vehicle repairs on-street.

You will be required to support the following areas:

• Truro


• Penzance


• St Austell


• Falmouth


The role works closely with RideOn operations and the e-bike control room, to ensure the close coordination, redistribution, and maintenance of the e-bike fleet. Good collaborative teamwork is vital to this role.

You will be responsible for the support of the following:

Maintenance and On-street Support

• Making certain that you, and the vehicle you are driving, are safe at all times.


• Ensuring public safety by driving legally and safely.


• Collecting any vandalised electric on-street vehicles that have been reported to our dedicated control room.


• Communicating with management and key personnel to inform them of any disruptions to redistribution routes.


• Balancing vehicle bays to ensure the planned number of vehicles are available for hire.


• Swapping the batteries of our electric on-street vehicles.


• Accurately recording and documenting all workflow through our dedicated app.


• Identifying, assessing, and reporting technical issues with all electric on-street vehicles.


• Follow guidance from senior mechanics for complex jobs to continually improve your skill set.


• Triage and repair suitable vehicles on-street.


• Return complex vehicle repairs back to the workshop for further analysis.


Customer Service

• Support the general public in a polite and professional manner.


• Contribute towards a positive working environment that brings an excellent e-bike presence to the local area.

  Ability to support the Sales Team and Customers within a timely manner


• Consistently focused on delivering an excellent client experience


• Relevant work experience in the bike industry or other retail setting (desirable)


Communication

• Friendly and engaging personality, smart appearance and comfortable working with members of the public


• Excellent phone skills


• Experience of understanding customer requests


• Ability to use apps

Other skills

• Full driving licence


• Bike repair experience (desirable)


• Ability to be active including bend, stoop, lift up to 40kg on a frequent basis


• Experience of electric bikes (desirable), bicycle mechanic: 1 year (preferred)
