Private Client Lending Specialist (10007)

The purpose of this role is to partner with relationship managers to structure lending solutions for their clients with the right client and commercial outcomes. This role requires the PCL Specialist to have experience in engaging with clients in order to understand their needs, structure deals with appropriate levels of risk assessment and price accordingly.

What are the main responsibilities?

Deal structuring and client interaction:

• Good knowledge of Private Client strategic outcomes and commercial objectives that are set for each financial year.



• In depth knowledge of Investec's lending proposition including product set, regulatory requirements and pricing structures



• Thorough understanding of the regulatory and risk environment and what responsibilities you have in adhering to the right outcomes for the business, yourself and clients.



• Engaging with RMs and clients to understand the client requirement.



• Providing appropriate lending solutions for target market clients, acting as a "first line of credit" to mitigate credit risk for the bank and to ensure we lend responsibly to our clients.



• Preparation of credit applications, loan and mortgage agreements with a good understanding of MOT, CRM and other systems required across the lending process. Ensure consistent and accurate capturing of client information at all touch points.



• To ensure lending exposures are managed in accordance with Investec's policy, procedures, credit and deal forum requirements.



• Ensure that all client outcomes are underpinned by our consumer duty responsibilities.



• Understand our wider Private Client and Investec group offering and be able to identify referral opportunities


Performance:

• Ensure performance outcomes set out in your performance framework are met both on a quantitative and qualitative basis



• Constantly review performance to find ways to improve speed, efficiency and commercial outcomes.



• Continuous learning - work with your team leader to identify skills gaps and co-create development plans to close these.


Data, Analytics and Market Insights:


• Ownership of your client data and use of CRM is a core aspect of this role. Use business insights to drive performance



• Ensure you are up to date with market trends and economic factors that may be raised in client meetings, particularly regarding the mortgage market

• Ability to process high volumes of credit / lending solutions with strict time scales


• Proven ability to understand individual and corporate financial statements


• Knowledge of the regulatory framework within which the mortgage team operates
