Full Job Description

  • To make, document, and send product samples to customers in accordance with internal PD procedures / customer codes of practice.

  • Support the PD manager in preparing and presenting samples to internal and external customers.

  • To always ensure the smooth running of PD areas, maintaining a high level of GMP and hygienic practice.


    • Principal Accountabilities:
  • To make kitchen samples in accordance with the PD procedure.

  • Ensure kitchen products are made / assessed in accordance with customer codes of practice.

  • To ensure all samples from kitchen and relevant trials are sent for internal and external signoff in an organised and timely manner.

  • Maintain paperwork / IT system to provide documented trail of PD work undertaken.

  • Support meetings regarding PD projects / feasibility and challenges with relevant site / business functions.

  • Collaborate with Procurement to arrange and deliver raw materials and ingredients requirements to site.

  • Assist in other PD activities where required, such as presentation to customers alongside PD manager.

  • Assist in production trials, when necessary, particularly new product designs and concepts.

    Degree in Food Science or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Experience > 1 years of product development from concept to manufacture within a food / drink manufacturing environment.

  • A passion for food and drink, trends, and consumer direction.

  • Proven people management skills and experience as a people manager.

  • Good interpersonal skills and skilled in making presentations.

  • Computer literate with competency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Full UK driving license essential
