Working directly for the site Quality Manager as a Quality Technician you will enjoy the challenge of the daily interaction with a broad range of colleagues across the site. Constantly monitoring and reviewing processes. Checking product that is being released and reviewing on site actions to ensure that the processes are under control and improving. Completing customer testing, certificates of analysis and the sites routine performance monitoring programme (PACE)
You will be supporting the Quality Manager in the maintenance of the ISO 9001 and BRC standards to ensure the site is always audit ready.

At DS Smith Fordham we are looking to hire a Quality Technician for the running of our Quality department.
About the role
As a valued team member you will be asked to play a vital role in supporting the Site, achieving quality standards on all work produced and delighting our customers by producing high quality product, in a timely manner. We work together to ensure that our work is technically correct and the right process has been followed to achieve customer requirements.

  • To be accountable for own health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with company procedures to enable a safe working environment.

  • To raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individual(s) concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management using behavioural safety cards (Observation Cards).

  • Complete laboratory testing on an as needs basis to ensure site compliance to the Divisional PACE testing program and support for Sales, Design, and site improvement projects/trials.

  • Complete laboratory testing on an as needs basis to meet customer specific requested analysis requirements.

  • Ensure any non-conforming results or malfunctioning equipment is investigated, reported and corrective action is implemented where required

  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping standards to ensure sample integrity is maintained and the laboratory is a safe place to work and visit.

  • Learn elements of Compliance activities to support the Quality Manager and Team Leader.
