Full Job Description

R&D Operations is the function responsible for products once they are launched on the market. The teams are based around the globe, working closely with R&D category development teams, supply, procurement, and commercial teams to deliver projects to protect the existing business, in addition to supporting business growth and ensuring cost effectiveness with cost saving programmes.

As the R&D Operations Manager, you would be responsible for the EU Aircare and polishes portfolio, as well as technically supporting all European aerosol-based product formats. Leading the Hull based Hygiene R&D Operations team, you will encourage growth and protect the business through the delivery of compliance programs and supply service maintenance. Alongside this, you will drive sustainability deployment in the EU from an R&D Operations perspective. Your responsibilities

- Contribute to, and drive, the development of a compelling strategy for the R&D Operations organisation.

- Be the first point of contact and technical specialist for European markets.

- Collaborate and partner with senior stakeholders and wider R&D teams to drive process improvements, best practice sharing and talent development.

- Develop new ways of working to improve efficiency & quality of department output and overall organisation performance.

- Lead, develop, mentor and support your team, ensuring resources are available.

- Identify and recommend key strategic opportunities, presenting back to key stakeholders.

- Spearhead the delivery of facility improvements, ensuring that a professional and compliant working environment is provided for the teams and that all areas are audit ready.

- Ensure that facilities and processes are operated with a prioritisation to Health and Safety, and to the required standards of good manufacturing and laboratory practices.

- Ensure that all work performed is consistently audit ready, at an exemplary level.

- Negotiate and secure resources in line with the assigned budget, proactively looking for cost optimisation opportunities.

R&D specialist with a proven track record of planning and implementing projects.

- Ability to identify risks and cost saving opportunities and subsequently communicate and implement appropriate measures.

- Strong communication skills with the confidence to present and report to senior stakeholders across departments and teams.

- Proven ability to prioritise and re-prioritise workloads dependent on needs.

- Strong negotiating & analytical skills.

- Ability to anticipate, plan and realise significant projects, involving multiple technical and scientific hurdles.

- Managing and optimising budgets for teams and projects.

- Proven leader with the ability to nurture talent and grow your team.
