Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Roofer to successfully deliver the day-to-day repairs service to the MOD family's, working to carry out technical services tasks at the highest quality. Working with the Roofer's Mate, you will carry out repairs to a variety of building services, including minor roofing works, building work and grounds work.

Working in a 2-person team with a Roofer's Mate, you will be responsible for reactive maintenance across our sites in Chippenham. You will be provided with a work van and fuel card, to attend sites to undertake roofing repairs, constructing scaffolding, put up fencing and other general building services.

As part of this role you will:

  • Be involved with reactive maintenance.

  • Undertake patch plastering works, tiling, floor laying, decorating replacing of internal and external doors

  • Complete and finalise projects to a high standard and have the ability to self-snag works on completion

  • Work with minimal supervision and have the ability to make decisions on the most appropriate repair solution.

  • Cut openings in structure to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools

  • Maintain van stocks and provide information enabling the improvements of Right first-time fixes

    An NVQ or equivalent in construction and roofing.


  • You must have a full UK Driving Licence.

    Previous experience in roofing works.

    Ability to work in all weathers.

    Ability to use hand tools.

    It is desirable that you are PASMA qualified.
