Full Job Description

As a Senior Technician you will support and enhance our capability and expertise in Hydrogen research by supporting development and maintaining our Hydrogen laboratory facilities.
At the C-ALPS we have world-class Hydrogen energy research facilities. To transition to clean growth, Hydrogen will be key. This is where the role supports our research, by assisting in the development and maintenance of our research test facilities.
Examples of our current research projects, and how you can support us, are:

  • Evaluating novel materials for Hydrogen fuel cells and electrolysers


  • Developing innovative sensor arrays for the health monitoring of fuel cell stacks

    As a Senior Technician you will demonstrate previous experience of providing technical support for research and development/or instrumentation in a laboratory environment using a wide range of equipment related to fluid engineering activities.
    You will be competent in the safe and effective operation of a range of laboratory and field -based equipment, including experience of commissioning, calibrating, and maintaining a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation.
    You will also require strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with students and staff at all levels, sharing your technical knowledge effectively.
