Full Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to support in leading our team at Dave Cumber Vets. The role would be primarily based in our Weymouth surgery but may also extend to our Dorchester branch practice on occasion. As a Senior Vet you would have added responsibilities, some of which would be the opportunity to work up surgical and medical cases consistently and support the team where needed. You would be involved in leading clinical decision making with the veterinary team, reviewing and updating clinical protocols, attend and participate in IVC meetings as requested and feedback relevant information to the clinical team. This opportunity would be a perfect fit for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to extend into leadership., Our team are at the heart of everything that we do, that's why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our team to be their best selves. We can offer full time, 40 hours per week, over 4/5 days with no OOH required. However, if you'd prefer part time working hours, we can discuss what could work for you. It is important to note as senior vet, the rota will include occasional sole-charge and 1 in 6 Saturdays. Situated in the idyllic seaside town of Weymouth on the Dorset coast, the beach is a 10-minute drive away, with lots of attractions nearby for children and adults alike. Local public transport is very convenient, with both bus and train services to the larger towns of Bournemouth and is on the main line to London, making it the perfect place to relocate and still be able to get out and about.
We are very lucky to have a purpose-built premises with modern and wide-ranging equipment. We have a well-equipped internal laboratory, two digital x-ray machines, 2 dental suites with x-ray facilities, endoscopy, laparoscopic surgical equipment, 2 ultrasound machines and 5 operating theatres.
