About Wiser Recycling

Wiser Recycling is a large independent processor of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in the East and North of England. Our focus is to recycle electrical wastes regularly, reliably and responsibly. This includes processing TVs, fridges, computers and fluorescent tubes into valuable materials.

Your new role

As our Site Operations Manager, you will ensure that all site activities and procedures are carried out effectively, effectively, safely and profitably. To verify that equipment and machinery on the site are installed and commissioned correctly and maintained in accordance with applicable laws.

Your team will be treating waste electrical and electronic equipment - supporting the growth of our business. A key part of your role will consist of managing and equipping your team so that they can process resources in an organised and efficient manner. Your ability to confidently adapt and problem-solve is vital.

To help you confidently adapt and problem-solve, we have established various support teams. Among others - these include compliance, health and safety, administration and sales. Together, we work as a team to reach our goals. In addition to your support crew, you will also have access to a variety of software and systems. Asana, MyCompliance, PeopleHR and Fieldmotion to name but a few. All are designed with the goal of assisting you in project management, compliance monitoring and leadership.

Day-to-day, you will be using our support systems to help you work towards the goal of short lead times, maximise the value we can recover from WEEE and operate a smooth running site. Some of the tasks you will be undertaking as an Operations Manager will include:

  • Managing the health, safety and welfare of the Thetford treatment facility.

  • Coordinating and overseeing your team's workload and output.

  • Making sure all resources are being used effectively and the site is organised.

  • Troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

  • Reporting on progress and results to management.

  • 3 years of relevant managerial or production supervision experience.

  • Experience in effective management of people to achieve desired outputs


  • Desired
  • Holder of a CIWM/WAMITAB Technically Competent Manager qualification.

  • Holder of a NEBOSH Certificate-level qualification.

  • Engineering qualification or equivalent.

  • Extended practical experience in waste, construction or manufacturing industry.

  • Experience working within waste management and manufacturing industries., How many years of work experience do you have in this field?
