Full Job Description

Alabaré are looking for a Specialist Finance Officer - Cashbook, Rent Review and Retail to work full time in our Central Services in Salisbury. The post holder will provide support to the Assistant Financial Controller as and when required and to act as a deputy in their absence.

To provide a high level of customer service to all stakeholders - particularly the project teams within Alabaré

To maintain an accurate, complete and timely financial accounting system in accordance with the Charity's financial procedures and regulations; provide the associated financial administration efficiently and effectively., Alabaré are committed to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all our service users, this includes developing, implementing and maintaining effective recruitment policies and procedures to promote the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Before commencing employment, the HR Department undertakes pre-employment checks on all applicants who have been offered a job with the Charity. These checks include an Enhanced DBS, which will be renewed every 3 years, the right to live and work in the UK, as well as two satisfactory references.

In return for this, we are looking for someone who has;

  • AAT Qualified or equivalent.

  • Numerate with the ability to use a computer. Essential: experience of Microsoft Excel and a computerised accounts package.

  • Experience of working in a finance environment & with knowledge & experience in the relevant areas.

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.

  • Be confident in the use of IT equipment, photocopiers, franking machines and other office equipment.

  • Ability to organise and prioritise work.

  • Ability to work as a member of a team.

  • Have a professional and pleasant manner with dealing with people both on the telephone and in person.

  • An empathy with the aims and objectives of the organisation.

    Full time annual salary £27,943.50 rising to £29,503.50 after a probation period.

  • Contracted to work 37.5 hours per week.

  • 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday.

  • Double time on nominated Bank Holidays.
