Full Job Description

The purpose of this Job is to support a teenage boy (15 year old) with autism. The child lives at home with his Mum and Dad. The purpose is to build a professional relationship with the child, support him to become more independent and to support his daily needs. The teenage boy loves buses and trains and loves being outdoors. He enjoys going to the park, cinema and trampoline parks.

To support with:

  • Engaging with the teenage and taking part in activities he enjoys e.g. going to watch trains / buses, going to the play park, cinema, trampoline park, etc

  • Constant supervision is required at all times.

  • Support with all safety aspects.

  • To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys.

  • Personal care may be required e.g. supervising him when he goes to the toilet - he is scared of hand driers to support with be require to comfort him

  • To support him with independence

  • To be supportive, encouraging and engaging.

  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

    Have an understanding of the child and their needs.

  • Preferrable to have a driving license.

  • Have a bubbly and outgoing personality.

  • Flexible with the hours you can work.

  • To be able to work on your own initiative and be aware of risks.
