Full Job Description

Cardiff is currently seeking Team Clerks (x3) to be employed within their Children's Services Social Work Teams. These positions will be based in an office setting at various locations, with the possibility of hybrid working arrangements after the successful completion of training. The role involves working closely with Social Workers and Personal Advisers, as well as managers, to enhance the quality of service delivery. This presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are eager to contribute to the improvement of the service.
About the Job
We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated individuals to provide administrative support and Reception duties (both face-to-face and over the phone) including:

  • Data processing

  • Maintaining and updating computerised databases

  • Organise / Maintain Diaries

  • Support to meetings

  • General operational support to the team

  • Cash handling as required

  • collating various information to strict legal deadlines

    The candidates selected for these positions will be expected to exhibit exceptional customer service abilities, exemplary written and verbal communication skills, and proficient keyboard and database management skills. Moreover, outstanding telephonic skills and the ability to deliver precise, high-quality work while maintaining exceptional organisational skills will also be required.

  • The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, clear verbal and written communication skills and proven keyboard and database skills. In addition to possessing excellent telephone skills, you must be capable of producing accurate and high-quality work, while also demonstrating strong organisational skills. The role encompasses a broad, diverse, and frequently evolving range of tasks, necessitating the use of initiative, the capacity to function effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and a dedication to delivering the highest calibre of support to those in need.
    You need to have a non-judgmental approach to people who are accessing services and must be willing to work flexibly as part of a team to meet changing service needs - which may include working from other bases.
    The ability to use Welsh in the workplace would also be desirable.
    Enhanced DBS will be required., Work Experience Experience of providing administrative support to a large multi-disciplinary team. Experience of being part of a team providing a customer focussed service. Experience of using a computer for word processing and creating / maintaining databases to produce reports. Experience of document management and developing and administering support procedures. Experience of operating filing systems. Experience of specialist software systems including Archibus CAFM / CMIS and Permit to Work systems. Experience of the processes and terms used in the Supply chain and project management. Experience of Financial / Project admin. Experience of drafting letters / memos and minuting meetings. Education / Qualifications A range of GCSE's including English Language and Maths (minimum grade C) or appropriate equivalent, or significant experiential learning. Degree qualification. Microsoft qualification or similar in use of spreadsheets / word processing.
    Skills / Abilities Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Experience of using a variety of IT packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Flexible in approach to work and ability to see tasks through to completion. Ability to deal with conflicting and challenging situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    £12.39 an hour - Temporary contract
