Full Job Description
Due to continued expansion, we are currently seeking a Trainee Application Support Specialist to work within a small but dedicated team across 2 sites within the Holton/Halesworth area.
You will be required to provide specialist support across a wide range of hardware and software issues to ensure the business runs smoothly and assist, design, maintain and develop complex software solutions across a variety of technologies, utilising existing software development tools currently in use by the team. The role is varied and will require a team player who is adaptable and service-driven to meet the needs of team objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems, telephone systems and networks.
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
- Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone).
- Setting up accounts for new users.
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
- Liaising with third-party companies (both software and hardware) to guarantee the unique needs of the business are met.
- Developing a detailed understanding of our current software, data structures and processes across our systems
- To become involved in the next generation of Software projects across the business
- Apply good software development practices to develop code that is tested, documented and maintainable.
- Testing new technology and software.
Demonstrable experience of working with hardware and networks. - Proven knowledge and understanding of C# .net and SQL Server. Experience in Python and Django is beneficial but not crucial.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices. For example, testing processes, coding standards, version control.
- The ability to demonstrate good skills in analysis and logical thinking.
