Full Job Description

The role of the Treasurer is one of five Committee members that govern the charity. Working closely with the Chair, the Treasurer's main role is to ensure that the setting is a financially sustainable organisation able to continue to serve the local community for years to come.

The provision of accurate record-keeping in the accounting system (Xero) will feed into the financial forecast the Treasurer is responsible for maintaining. Working with the setting manager to keep on top of cash flow, understanding the invoicing and government funded places, making use of the setting software to support this., Happy to consider individual needs

  • Key tasks documented. Role of treasurer as per constitution / committee handbook.

  • The perfect candidate would have a financial background, and/or have experience of managing budgets.

  • Competent user of cloud-based accountancy packages, ideally Xero (or similar).

  • Confident in using Microsoft Excel to carry out adhoc analysis and forecasting.

  • As part of a Committee, being able to work as a team and comfortable making decisions that will affect the setting.

    The preschool is a charity and committee-led organisation, based in the grounds of Petersgate Infant School in Clanfield. The setting provides term time care to local children two years up to school age.
