Visiting Music teacher - Oboe

We are seeking to engage an experienced and dynamic woodwind teacher to teach oboe to a wide range of students and to encourage and nurture a love of oboe playing that will be life-long. There is at least one day a week of lessons.

The aims of the Music Department are to inspire, enrich, and nurture every pupil to fulfil their musical potential in a dynamic, vibrant and exciting environment. We wish to provide the opportunity and flexibility for the leading musicians of the future to achieve their ultimate ambitions. We wish to be recognised as one of the top five non-specialist music schools in the country.

Nearly every Wellington student in the 3rd form learns a musical instrument and every pupil has the experience of performing during their time at Wellington. We provide a specialist scheme to provide space, time and opportunities to prepare students for Conservatoire or Oxbridge and we have the flexibility to develop our programme to meet the needs of all musicians; we are always looking for ways to improve.

There are always considerable plans for music and we are always looking for exceptional instrumental teachers to join our team of 50 visiting staff, eight full-time staff, two part-time staff, secretaries and technicians. At the moment, we teach in the region of 700 instrumental lessons each week, and facilities in the Music School are excellent, though very busy.

The visiting teacher of oboe would be expected to teach boys and girls of all ages and abilities. We are keen to appoint an experienced teacher who is interested in joining our existing team of woodwind tutors to motivate and nurture talent. He or she would be expected to prepare pupils for examinations, concerts and masterclasses and work within a strong wider team of woodwind specialists.

Visiting teachers are self-employed and the school helps with administration. Further details will be explained at interview. All appointments are subject to receipt of satisfactory references and DBS check.
