Yard Maintenance Operative

Job Title: Yard Maintenance Operative working in the heart of the National Forest for a friendly family run Business., Job Description: As a Yard Maintenance Operative at Pickstock Foods, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness, organization, and efficient operation of the yard facilities. You will be responsible for a range of tasks essential for maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for our operations. You will start work Monday to Friday at 0800 until finish.,

• Washing Dolavs:


• Clean and sanitize Dolavs used for transportation and storage of products.


• Ensure Dolavs are thoroughly cleaned according to company standards to maintain hygiene.


• Cleaning Drains:


• Regularly inspect and clean drains to prevent blockages and maintain proper drainage.


• Adhere to safety protocols while performing drain cleaning tasks.


• Yard Maintenance:


• Keep the yard area clean, organized, and free from debris at all times.


• Safely dispose of waste materials and ensure proper recycling practices are followed.


• Washing Lorry Trailers:


• Clean and sanitize lorry trailers used for transportation of goods.


• Conduct visual inspections for damages and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.


• Unloading Lorries:


• Assist in unloading deliveries from lorries safely and efficiently.


• Handle goods with care to prevent damage during the unloading process.


• Stock Management:


• Ensure deliveries are properly stored in designated areas according to inventory procedures.


• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing goods.


• Decanting Laundry:


• Transfer laundry items between containers or storage areas as needed.


• Adhere to hygiene and safety protocols when handling laundry materials.


• Gritting Yard:


• Perform gritting tasks to ensure the yard area remains safe during adverse weather conditions.


• Forklift Operative: Responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. They are also tasked with maintaining the forklift in good working condition and always adhering to safety standards.
  
  Previous experience in a similar role preferred.


• Valid Forklift Operators License/Certificate


• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to yard maintenance activities.


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.


• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.


• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessary.
  
  Please note that a large proportion of the duties for this role will be outside and you will be required to work in all weather conditions - safety will be prioritised.


Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
