Full Job Description

We are looking for a self-motivated and talented scientist to study the mechanisms of miRNA-dependent gene silencing regulated by Argonaute phosphorylation and the consequences of such mechanisms on learning and memory. The project will involve biochemical and behavioural techniques in Jonathan Hanley's and Clea Warburton's labs at the University of Bristol, as well as collaboration with labs in London and Exeter.

What will you be doing?

You will perform biochemical experiments to study RNA-protein interactions and gene silencing, and behavioural techniques in conjunction with molecular interventions in vivo to analyse learning and memory.

You have a PhD (or working towards one) with relevant lab experience in studying Argonaute phosphorylation and the consequent modulation of miRNA-dependent gene silencing. Experience in biochemical/molecular and behavioural techniques is essential.
