Full Job Description

A full-time (part-time also considered) post with funding for 9 months for a role using data extracted from clinical datasets to study whether patients seen in clinical services with eating disorders differ in demographic and socioeconomic patterns from those identified as having a possible eating disorder in population-representative studies.

What will you be doing?

You will work alongside Dr Helen Bould, and her collaborators on this project (Dr Ruth Wadman, University of York; Prof Francesca Solmi, UCL). Activities will include liaising with the research and Business Innovation Teams in Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust around planning clinical data extraction, and accessing data from nationally representative datasets for comparison, literature review, quantitative data analyses, writing papers and presenting the work.

You have an in-depth understanding of epidemiology and statistics, with a relevant postgraduate research degree- i.e. PhD (or working towards), or equivalent professional/research experience. You have experience in the use of EHR data and in data management. You work well with others and can work collaboratively across organisations. Experience of the following would be an advantage: research relevant to mental health in general and eating disorders in particular, writing up research for publication, working collaboratively with groups from diverse backgrounds.
