Full Job Description

Working a closely with colleagues in Student and Academic Support, the Admissions Team is responsible for managing relations with applicants, and for providing expert support and advice for UK, EU and International applicants across UG, PG and other student categories (including part-time, modular, partnerships and distance-learning). The admissions process spans managing enquiries and applications through to registration.

The Admissions Team works closely with colleagues in Schools to facilitate the achievement of recruitment targets. The team is responsible for the constant refinement and improvement of business processes and supporting systems to ensure the most effective admission of new students (including various data entry and other interactions with the University's student systems) and the best possible applicant experience. This team is responsible for ensuring all processes and systems are compliant with regulatory bodies including UCAS and the UKVI., We are looking to recruit an Admissions Officer to join our Central Admissions Team, which manages applications to programmes across the University.

Reporting to the Admissions Team Leader, you will be responsible for dealing with a wide range of applications to the University making decisions on both undergraduate and postgraduate applications against set entry criteria, and for building & maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues in academic areas.

Working within a team responsible for managing all admissions for a designated academic area, you will have specific individual responsibility whilst also helping to ensure that all applications for that area are dealt with in a timely and consistent manner. You will be required to develop a detailed understanding of both international and UK qualifications (for undergraduate and postgraduate entry) and of UKVI and UCAS practice and regulations.

The successful candidate will have experience of admissions in a higher education setting. You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure. The nature of the work requires individuals with good interpersonal skills who are able to successfully work in a team and flexibly.
