CPS East Midland is delighted to advertise the role of Advocacy Clerking Manager.

You will lead a team of clerking assistants within the Crown Advocacy Unit (CAU) supporting the CPS' Advocacy Strategy. Responsible for day-to-day management of the clerking team, performance and stakeholder engagement.

You will be responsible for the timely briefing of in-house KCs, Principal Crown Advocates, Senior Crown Advocates and Crown Advocates in line with the Crown Advocate Progression Framework and CPS briefing principles.

You will lead and manage the team of Advocacy Clerking Assistants in pursuit of team and shared objectives.

You will support the development of staff by way of clear accountabilities and decision-making abilities, training opportunities, and monitoring team performance in line with agreed civil service values and behaviours.

You will support the development needs and training, of Crown Advocates, by way of the provision buddying and shadowing opportunities, and assist the Legal Crown Advocacy Manager in ensuring standards are met.

You will influence local criminal justice stakeholders on a range of CPS and cross- CJS initiatives, using digital briefing tools and reporting to inform discussions.
