HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight. We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Alternatives (ALTs) Investment Writer - this is a specialist role with the Asset Management Alternatives business. Role Overview: The primary responsibility of the role holder is to support the investment content strategy. This is a crucial component of our 'investment excellence' initiative. By facilitating content production, the successful candidate will support the commercial development of Alternatives visibility and businesses. In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the production of regular and ad hoc investment commentary, articles, white papers, marketing texts, website pages, video scripts and others across the full range of Alternative investment capabilities and targeted audiences - specifically focused on Institutional (Pension &
  • Insurance funds), Wholesale and Private Bank clients.
  • Support the development and execution of the ALTs investment content strategy, working with stakeholders to prioritise and support key strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders including investment, business, sales and product in order to facilitate the delivery of high-quality content that reflects the strengths of our investment platforms within the relevant timeframe.
  • Supporting idea generation for regular publications and articles by keeping up to speed with industry news.
  • Ensure that all content conforms to AM best practice standards, regulatory requirements and compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the creation and use of content

    To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • A thorough understanding of the Asset Management markets and the various financial instruments particularly Alternative Investment vehicles is essential.
  • Possess advanced written communication skills and have the ability to deliver detailed, high quality written content is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders in order to view as a 'trusted advisor' is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills to be able to confidently manage conflicting priorities when dealing with multiple projects.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and research skills to be able to support other readily available information, data and content.
  • An understanding of the role Investor Relations and how it influences investment decisions is desirable.
  • This role is based in HSBC office at 8 Canada Square London with flexibility for some home working however you should be able to travel to London on a weekly basis.
