Full Job Description
You will be expected to work such hours as are reasonably necessary for the proper performance of your duties and responsibilities, normally 37 hours per week. Your working hours are variable and will be agreed as part of a rota. Your working hours may include days, weekends, and bank holidays. Where your working day is more than six hours, one hour should be taken for lunch which will be unpaid.
Do you have a passion within animal care and welfare? We are looking for someone to maintain our range of animals and facilities at the Lackham Animal Centre and to guide and support students. Our animals are fundamental to our teaching quality and to our student progression; and you as a successful technician can be a part of that journey. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience within an educational environment, with further training available we can support your career progression. Animal Care Learning Support Technician - You You will be pro-active, passionate and motived to support our animal care provision, helping our learners achieve by assisting our lecturers and preparing the workplace. The successful candidate will have recent relevant experience of the animal care industry and hold good knowledge industry experience within relevant animal husbandry settings ideally having worked with a wide range of animals, such as small mammals, reptiles, primates, and hoof stock etc. The successful candidate will be passionate, confident and have industry experience working with a range of animals, working to high industry standards to meet animal welfare needs.,
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent)
