Full Job Description

The Health Board is implementing an Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration system (EPMA). The post holder will have a key role in a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and wider professionals, to ensure the successful implementation and safe utilisation of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board EPMA system.
It is an exciting opportunity to work on an innovative and progressive product. The post holder will have considerable experience on all aspects of ICT skills from applications to networks., The Post holder will use their specialist knowledge and experience, alongside EPMA team colleagues, to test, develop and configure systems. They will also be required to provide advice to the programme lead, Ward Managers, ward staff and other clinical staff, assisting in developing effective and efficient workflows for the project implementation and roll-out of EPMA system across the Health Board.
A key element will be to facilitate and participate in the pre implementation planning and delivery of specialist training to Registered Nurses, Consultants, Doctors, Pharmacy, Therapy staff and other specialities who will interact with the EPMA system across the Health Board. They will demonstrate the system, promote the benefits of EPMA and work with the EMPA team to ensure that the system is implemented in a safe and timely manner.
Alongside the EPMA team you will be required to:
+ Manage the service delivery of the clinical information system.
+ Act as an advocate for and to promote best practice with regard to the clinical information systems.
+ Risk identification and production of mitigation plans.
+ Develop standard operating procedures, maximising benefits from clinical systems and their interaction with other clinical and hospital systems/devices.
+ Be responsible for formulating and monitoring policies and protocols to support the clinical information systems.
