Full Job Description

As a full-stack Application Developer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive web applications. You will be part of a small centre of excellence in full-stack web technologies and user interface development, designing mock-ups and wireframes and translating them into fully functional digital applications used by our volunteers and staff. You will be helping the RNLI to deliver applications that will enhance engagement and satisfaction and ultimately, support those who are part of our mission to save lives.

To be considered as our new Applications Developer you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in applications development using development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks for frontend and C# for backend
  • Experience with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience of using version control systems such as GitHub, and of DevOps methodology.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management practices is a plus.
  • It is also desirable (but not essential) that you have an understanding of data modelling, data integration, and API consumption; knowledge of Azure services and cloud computing; and experience of VueJS and Bootstrap.
  • If you are someone who is excited by new technology and making life easier for users, with a passion for creating engaging user experiences that users love, as well as someone who is motivated to share their skills in a fantastic organisation that is making a difference by saving lives, apply today!

We are currently looking for an Applications Developer to join our Applications Development team. The role will leverage new technology solutions by looking for ways to develop applications that engage, satisfy, and make it easier and more cost effective to save lives at sea.
