Great Western Hospital Apprenticeships offers you a work placement for one year based at the Academy, Great Western Hospital in Swindon, working towards an apprenticeship inAssociate Project Manager Level 4.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, high quality individual to join our apprenticeship programme at Great Western Hospital, working within our IT Team.

We have a dedicated Apprenticeship Teambased in the Academy, which is the Trust's learning and development centre that will support you in your apprenticeship programme. They will work very closely with you and your manager to provide a comprehensive development plan detailing your objectives and workplace goals. You will be employed on a 30 month fixed term contract on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with time for personal study towards the apprenticeship framework. You will also be entitled to annual leave holiday including public (Bank) holidays. As an apprentice with Great Western Hospital.

Working in the IT Project Team, you will undertake a range of project-based administrative functions. You will work alongside dedicated project managers to support the successful running, governance and completion of a variety of projects. You will gain experience of using various IT tools and project management methodology, all of which will support your personal development and be fully transferable to your future job opportunities. As part of your personal development and learning, you will spend time with each of the teams within the IT department to gain insight into the overall running of the department, and help you develop your further interest in working in a busy IT department.

An apprenticeship is a learning placement and as such you will work to become fully effective against this job description by the end of your placement. It is not intended that you will be able to fulfil all elements of this job description at the start of your placement.

To effectively manage a range of smaller projects under supervision and following training, and to provide an efficient and effective clerical and administrative support service to the other Project Managers, in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

1. To maintain strict confidentiality at all times and handle sensitive information in a mature manner
2. To maintain filing systems in line with organisational and department Policies and Procedures.
3. To answer/deal with queries, both face to face and via the telephone, take messages and pass them on to the relevant member of staff in an appropriate and timely manner.
4. To respond to face to face and telephone enquiries in a friendly, courteous and professional manner, recording any messages efficiently and passing them to the relevant member of staff in an appropriate and timely manner
5. To liaise and interact with other users and colleagues as and when required in a professional manner.
6. Attend and take part in team meetings and regular reviews with line manager etc. Attend meetings and participate in relevant training programmes as requested by the organisation.
7. To assist the team with the necessary arrangements for events run by the organisation.
8. To sign a learning contract with the training provider and adhere to the agreement.
