What You'll Do at Work
Dive deep into the realm of Security Engineering, where you will install, commission, and maintain electronic systems that protect individuals, homes, and properties.
Master the art of installing and maintaining cutting-edge systems, including intrusion detection, CCTV systems, and access control.
Our team primarily focuses on large installation projects, which typically take 3-6 months to complete.
Gain invaluable experience across both the installation and service teams as part of this role.
Hit the road with your own company van, traveling daily to client premises, where each day brings new challenges.
Work closely with your dedicated team, absorbing essential skills to become a qualified security engineer.
Where You'll Work
This is a field-based position covering all of Wales where regular travel is a requirement of the role. Overnight stays will also be required.

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Enrol in a Level 3 Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician qualification delivered by Banham Academy alongside fellow Johnson Controls apprentices
Engage in block release basis training and receive on-the-job guidance from experienced mentors and engineers, This thrilling opportunity is field-based, meaning that you will be working with our highly skilled engineers, traveling between our customers' sites each day. Our work may also involve heavy lifting and working at heights.

GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade 5) - essential
GCSE or equivalent in Maths (Grade 5) - essential
Full Driving License - essential, GCSE or equivalent in IT (Grade 5) - desirable. Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have, as they can adjust the apprenticeship to match your current knowledge., Exceptional communication skills

After This Apprenticeship
Upon completion of this apprenticeship, numerous internal opportunities within the company await you. Many of our previous apprentices have advanced to become lead engineers, managing their own teams and projects.

What's Next?
Suitable candidates will be contacted via email to provide their evidence of required certifications. Once we receive the evidence of certification you will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre, where you will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview.
Candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can expect to begin the apprenticeship with Johnson Controls in the late summer of 2025.
