Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be required to assist the Wellbeing Support Officer to provide wellbeing support and bespoke interventions to Junior Soldiers to enrich their experience at the Army Foundation College (Harrogate) and support their transition into the Army.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide the required level of support to Junior Soldiers in response to issues arising from collective adverse childhood experiences and current stressors that are impacting on their ability to succeed on the course.
Support Junior Soldiers concerns via proactive case management in collaboration with the Wellbeing Support Officer.
Refer and signpost Junior Soldiers to the appropriate internal parties e.g. Medical /Chain of Command /Special Educational Needs Coordinator and external Secondary and Statutory Services.
Liaise with the chain of command to provide situational awareness and to cue either additional support or managerial action for each Junior Soldier.
Communicate with parents/guardians/services and internal Subject Matter Experts.
Conduct initial assessment of Junior Soldiers; initiate, maintain and manage ongoing Junior Soldier case files on restricted access systems.
Input and maintain related military data capture.
Develop and retain professional competencies/ memberships reflecting latest legislation applicable to tasks undertaken.
Work occasional after hours/out of hours as directed, for Army Foundation College activities and events.
In collaboration with the Unit Welfare Officer and Wellbeing Support Officer, conduct onward referrals to external agencies as per policy, as required.
