Army Equipment Support Materiel, Modernisation and Equipment Transition Manager

This post is critical to ensure that the new capabilities that are being brought into service as part of the Army's modernisation programme can be supported from a spares perspective. The post will involve liaising across multiple organisations to ensure that the new capabilities, when in service and being used by the Front-Line Users, are supportable and can be sustained to meet critical Army outputs, including the support that the Army provide to NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation).

Your main responsibilities will include:

Engage with Field Army Units, suppliers and Delivery Teams on all aspects of Equipment Support (ES) Material (Mat), giving direction and guidance on ES Mat and any proposed support solutions, provided for platforms and equipment due to come into service
Engage with stakeholders, to confirm any proposed Equipment Support Solution in relation to ES Mat is compliant with MOD policy and agreed standards, ensuring any risks highlighted are understood and passed to HQ Field Army and Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) for comment
Attend all Delivery Team (DT) Platform and Equipment Logistic Support Committee, Capability Integration Working Group and Support Solution Envelope (SSE) meetings, ensuring Records of Decision (RoD) and Risk Registers are circulated around Field Army for comment
Ensuring any new equipment program, is effective, makes sense for defence, and offers value in equipment support through life, ensuring risks to ES Mat are clearly understood by all stakeholders
Act as the Equipment Supply Branch, desk lead, responsible for Advice, Guidance and Direction to DE&S DT, Through Life Support (TLS), Army HQ, Director Programmes, and HQ Field Army Desk Officers to aid the identification and understanding of support strategies and concepts being developed for both ES for new equipment and disposal plans for out of service equipment
Act as the link between DT, TLS, and other Army departments for the resolution of equipment materiel issues for all proposed new to service Platforms and attached systems
Assist the DT in optimising the delivery of ES Capability and Availability of ES Mat, through ES services and contracts in order to ensure new equipment is fully supportable on delivery to Field Army Units
Confirming DT use and follow, the United Kingdom Strategic Command (UK Strat Com), Support Assurance Team (SAT), new Support Solution Envelope (SSE) mandated structure, to independently review the evidence of any Support Solution development and maintenance in relation to ES Mat and highlighting potential risks (to ES Mat) that are present before In Service Date (ISD) is declared
To participate through the provision of a series of interrelated Pan-Defence Lines of Development (Pan -DLoD) activities, Logistic Support Committees (LSC) and Capability Integration Working Groups (CIWG), using the SSE, 6 Cross Cutting Themes (CCT) and 19 Core Development Areas (CDA), to sustain a capability through life, in accordance with extant Ministry Of Defence (MOD) mandated policy, to meet the defined user requirements
