Full Job Description
The role of the Support Transformation Manager (SpTx) involves the management of Army TLB input into Defence Major Programmes drawing on a wider knowledge, skills and experience from across the headquarters and Army TLB.
The individual will be working with a mixed military and civilian team of Programme Management, Logistic Support, Equipment Support and Engineering Support subject matter experts (SMEs). There is a particular focus upon informing changes to Support policy, processes and information systems occurring as part of the transformation of the Support function across Defence.
The post holder is required to work within a context defined by the Support Function and its subordinate projects within Major Programmes, and to consider "in-flight" and planned Army-led initiatives. A critically important function sees the post holder corralling and managing Army TLB input into the process to define the requirements for future Support Transformation covering the Logistic Support, Equipment Support and Engineering Support functional areas.
The role involves liaison primarily with Support Major Programmes elements of Defence Support but requires management of a diverse stakeholder group across Defence.
As the Support Transformation Manager your key areas of responsibility are as follows:
There is a requirement to deconflict with internal and external change and efficiency initiatives that impinge on Support Programmes (including providing input on transitions between in-service and future Support IS)
Proactively manage programme risks, assurance, issues, dependencies, and opportunities (RAIDO) facing the Project/ Programme by monitoring, reporting and escalating where appropriate
Manage, on behalf of the Chain of Command Army Support TLB input into Defence Major Programmes
Liaise with, brief, manage and keep informed all Army Support TLB stakeholders, and wider Defence stakeholders
Attend / deputise for DACOS SpTx in the Defence Major Programmes Working Groups and other governance Support forums as appropriate
Advise DACOS SpTx of emerging input requirements and work strands requiring Support KSE or capacity that the Directorate/ Branch may lack and identify potential new sources of expertise
Ensure all Defence Major Programmes engagement with Army stakeholders is controlled and co-ordinated through the appropriate channels
Identify and deconflict efficiencies for Army TLB through the maturity levels
Maintaining records of actions discussions RoADs, act as secretariat for Support Boards/ Stakeholder engagement
Assist and deputise when required
