Full Job Description

This is a new opportunity to join Collection Management department of one of the world's leading art institutions. We are seeking an Art Handling Technician to work on ongoing 3-year Storage Project and medium-term Storage Programme for Tate's Collections. This role plays a key part in facilitating artwork moves between storage facilities to optimise storage capacity in support of programmes at Tate.
This role sits within the Storage team of Tate Collection Management Department and Collection Care Division. This is a highly collaborative role with a wide reach across the division, touching on Tate-wide programmes and collection care. You will report to Senior Art Handling Technician, Storage Project, to provide practical and technical assistance to pack, move and store artworks. You will work as part of a team under supervision and independently on a broad range of storage consolidation and operation activities.
It is essential you have demonstrable practical experience to handle, pack, move and store artworks or artefacts in storage facilities. You will need to be a team player with good communication skills to collaborate with colleagues at all levels. You will also need to demonstrate a flexible attitude with target-driven approach to deliver project KPIs and maintain store operations in support of Tate's programmes.
We will provide a full equipment training programme, including all technical certifications required, to enable you to work safely up to the Tate's standard.
