Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented Assembly Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Operate machines and production equipment independently, meeting quality and productivity standards, and provide instruction or coaching to others when needed.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety (H&S) policies and procedures, ensuring safe equipment use and reporting any hazards, incidents, or injuries immediately.
  • Participate in troubleshooting operations and engineering trials/builds to resolve issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace by following 5S standards and performing regular housekeeping tasks.
  • Actively engage in continuous process improvements to enhance quality, safety, material flow, and employee development.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, using appropriate personal protective equipment and working to minimize environmental impacts.
  • Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and poka-yoke, while performing quality inspections and addressing non-conforming materials.
  • Collaborate with team members, skilled trades, and support staff to meet production goals, coach others, and maintain equipment in optimal working condition.

    Strong attention to detail, responsibility, and diligence in all tasks, ensuring high-quality workmanship and precision.
  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical assembly, with experience using hand tools and interpreting technical drawings and instructions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow detailed build and testing work instructions, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications during the assembly process., Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Mechanical and Electrical assembly
  • Experience with automated and hand tools
  • Experience with reading mechanical drawings
