Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time SPV Assistant Accountant to join our team. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is predominantly home based but you will be required to attend the Tewkesbury office as and when required. The Assistant Accountant will administer and manage the project works taking place in LIFT companies, and assist the Financial Accountants in management accounts and model forecasting, as well as other financial duties to support the team., SPV Finance provides a financial accounting, investment and reporting service to a range of clients in the PFI/PPP sector, for agreed fees under Management Service Agreements. SPV accounting involves low volume but high value, contractually complex transactions. It is imperative to be compliant with the requirements of those contracts and shareholder agreements. The team is responsible for delivery of quality financial reports for a number of boards and stakeholders, satisfying their reporting and investment requirements to strict deadlines. This role requires a flexible individual, with broad accounting knowledge and experience, attention to detail and a willingness to learn new areas of accounting. Financial Management

  • Completing management accounts on a quarterly basis, including variance analysis, reconciliations and commentary for review by the Finance Manager
  • Updating and maintaining lifecycle schedules
  • Prepare quarterly transfers required for contractual lender compliance
  • Prepare quarterly SONIA loans, swaps and sub debt checks and payments
  • Update financial models with actuals and economic assumptions on a quarterly basis for review by the Finance Manager
  • Complete year end audit packs for Financial Accountants
  • Reconciliation and management of customer and supplier recharges
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations - various companies
  • Tracking of projects - Variations, Pass through, lifecycle
  • Control of Purchase and Sales Orders reconciliation
  • Submitting CIS returns to HMRC and reposting of CIS tax movements for consistent accounts production
  • Backup for Accounts Assistant and Assistant Accountant
  • Production of simple Dormant Holding Company stat accounts - training provided
  • Any other adhoc reporting requirements that may arise through external influences
  • Commercial Management

  • Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • AAT qualified, studying ACCA or CIMA post stage 1
  • Management Accounts production experience
  • Sage Line 50
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Intermediate Excel
  • Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
  • Contractual and commercial knowledge
  • High standard of written and presentation skills
  • Understanding of complex spreadsheet formula
  • Knowledge of IRIS accounting suite
