Full Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant ER Advisor for a fixed term maternity cover based at Frimley Park Hospital. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is already studying for their CIPD level 3/5 although consideration will be given to someone who aspires to do so. Although primarily based at Frimley, the role requires the ability to work/travel cross site to attend meetings. These locations include sites we have out in the community. You will work closely with the HR Business Partners and the Senior ER Advisors on all sites to support provision of the following to managers and staff:

  • Consistent HR advice on a range of employee relations matters
  • Sickness absence - advice to managers to support them in the management of sickness within their departments in line with Trust policy
  • Probation support to managers and staff who experience issues within the probation period
  • Arranging employee relations meetings and providing admin support e.g. preparing paperwork for hearings and tribunals
  • To be responsible for taking and transcribing formal minutes from meetings: Disciplinary investigatory meetings and hearings
  • Grievance investigatory meetings and hearings
  • To support the HR Business Partner team to ensure accurate reporting of data
  • Project work as required
  • Full training will be given with ongoing support and development

  • To assist the Business Partners and Advisors in providing accurate and consistent advice to line managers within the Trust on its HR Policies, Procedures, Legislation etc., including sickness absence, special leave, work life balance, maternity /paternity, annual leave etc. This will require individuals to have appropriate detailed knowledge of the whole range of HR topics
  • To direct staff and managers to the appropriate policies, procedures and standard letters which are held on the intranet.
  • To support managers undertaking probation reviews and to attend as appropriate probation hearings to support line managers in line with Trust policy
  • Attend and to take notes at HR meetings including disciplinary, grievance, sickness, probation, and staff council.
  • Prepare the paperwork for case management hearings in collaboration with Business Partners/ Advisors, and line managers. This will include providing support for the collation of Employment Tribunal Bundles, Disciplinary and Grievance hearings, sickness and probation meetings etc
  • To have knowledge of employment legislation and to provide advice on compliance with employment law issues as required
  • Assist with the provision of training by the HR Business Partners/Advisors.
