Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice (Band 3) or Qualified (Band 4) Assistant Practitioner in Mammography to join our multi-disciplinary team at the Cambridge Breast Unit.

The service delivers both breast screening and symptomatic mammography. The Cambridge Breast Unit uses fully digital mammography with three mammography rooms, all being tomosynthesis systems.

We perform a range of examinations and interventional procedures such as vacuum assisted biopsy. In addition, we have two mobile screening units to provide the important primary screening to the Cambridgeshire area.

As an Assistant Practitioner in the Cambridge Breast Unit, you will be part of a dedicated team providing a high-quality patient-centred Mammography Service.

We are a friendly, welcoming multi-disciplinary team committed to providing a first class service to all of our patients. The Cambridge Breast Unit are committed to personal and professional development with everyone supported in CPD and role extension., To work designated sessions in mammography under direct or indirect supervision, attendance at an accredited University course, producing consistently high standards of mammographic radiography and client/patient care, ensuring an efficient service is maintained at all times.

To operate in all locations and be involved in breast screening. To assist the radiographic department assistants in their specific roles.
