Full Job Description
As the Assistant Purchase Ledger Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of suppliers while supporting the Purchase Ledger Team Leader in managing the team and maintaining compliance with internal controls. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of financial procedures to contribute to a thriving educational Trust.,
- Support the Purchase Ledger Team Leader in ensuring all supplier payments are accurate and timely.
- Assist in workload allocation, team development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with fraud prevention measures and HMRC regulations.
- Support and deliver training on the No Purchase Order, No Pay process.
- Participate actively in weekly team meetings.
- Undertake day-to-day purchase ledger activities, ensuring seamless service across the Trust.
- Prepare and manage the weekly BACS run, resolving any related queries.
- Oversee the Central Energy Database, ensuring accurate records and timely query resolution.
- Monitor invoice processing and provide regular updates to the Team Lead.
- Ensure proper setup and verification of new suppliers in the finance system.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary information to internal and external auditors.
- Provide cover for the Team Lead when required.
Experience in purchase ledger management or a similar finance role. - Strong understanding of financial processes and controls.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide leadership support.
- Knowledge of HMRC requirements and fraud prevention best practices.
- Confident communicator, able to provide training and support to colleagues.
