Full Job Description

This role is one of two Assistant Team Managers within the service who report to the Team Manager for Youth Justice.This role has supervisory responsibility for between 5-7 case-managers, with direct oversight of and responsibility for excellence in case-management practice.The post-holder is required to undertake reflective, high quality supervision of staff on a monthly basis alongside regular quality assurance of youth justice assessments, plans and reports. This Assistant Team Manager role hasleadarea oversight of Court, Custody, Transitions, and Resettlement.The other Assistant Team Manager is part-time and hasleadresponsibility for Out of Court and our JointDecision-Making Panel. Assistant Team Managerssupportthe Team Manager with auditing and performance reporting and can be required to prepare and present service reports to a range of audiences including the Management Board. Assistant Team Managers support the Team Manager in work-load monitoring and management and allocation of case-loads and resources. Assistant Team Managers are required to participate in the Duty Manager rota which can involve evening and weekend working on an occasional basis. Whilst we are working in an agile way and there are opportunities to work from home, the post-holder is expected to be available in County on a regular basis for face-to-face commitments and travel across the County of Oxfordshire is required.

We are looking for a highly experienced youth justice professional who is looking for the next step in their career development into management. We are particularly keen to hear from current Senior Practitioners or those in similar roles.It is essential that you have working knowledge and experience of youth justice legislation and practice frameworks in accordance with the YJB National Standards and Case Management Guidance.We are looking for a dynamic, highly organised and solution-focusedindividualwho can step into the role and commence immediate supervision of youth justice case-managers.Knowledge of the youth justice landscape and issues relating to children in the justice system in England and Wales is essential. You must have experience of working with vulnerable children and families.
