An exciting career opportunity has arisen within Perioperative Medicine for an Associate Director of Nursing/AHP.

The Associate Director of Nursing/AHP is a pivotal role, ensuring that the services consistently provide high quality patient care whilst delivering in conjunction with the Clinical Director and Associate Director of Operations the delivery of services including operational, quality and finance.
The Clatterbridge site which is GIRFT accredited has recently had an additional four theatres built and is vital to support elective recovery at WUTH and across the region. There are 15 theatres on the Arrowe Park hot site and 10 on the Clatterbridge cold site.
The successful candidate will lead the Directorate of perioperative Medicine which includes:
+ Theatres
+ Anaesthetics
+ Preoperative Assessment
+ Pain Service
+ Surgical Elective Admissions Lounge
+ Clatterbridge Hospital Day Ward
+ Clatterbridge Surgical Inpatient ward
+ Sterile Services Department, You will assist and support the Divisional Director of Nursing and the Associate Director of Operations in Peri Operative Medicine in the smooth running of the Peri Operative Medicine (POM) Directorate. You will ensure the delivery of divisional goals and KPIs with a particular focus on excellent, sustainable care delivery. The post holder will work closely with the Divisional Director of Nursing to support the delivery of professional standards pertaining to the clinical services.
Perioperative Medicine covers two sites, Clatterbridge and Arrowe Park hospital. The POM portfolio includes preop assessment, 25 operating theatres, a 10 bedded surgical ward, Sterile Services Department (which is currently having a refurbishment and replacement of all washers and autoclaves), acute and chronic pain services and the department of anaesthesia. The directorate has over 400 staff and 45 medical staff to support delivery of surgical services to the division and organisation. The organisation is a key member of the regional theatre network and works across Cheshire & Merseyside offering mutual aid in the new Clatterbridge Surgical Centre (Elective Hub) , GIRFT and National productivity teams.
The directorate provides surgical specialisms in Elective and Trauma Orthopaedics (Regional Arthroplasty Centre) Robotics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Breast, General, Chronic Pain interventions, Urology, Head and Neck, Paediatrics, Vascular and Ophthalmology services., Please see attached Job Description for further information about the Associate Director of Nursing/Health Care Professions position available at WUTH.
