Full Job Description
The MDes Design Futures programme at the Royal College of Art (RCA) is seeking an Associate Lecturer to support the final term of this one-year master's degree. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator and practitioner to shape the learning experience of postgraduate students in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
️ Teach and mentor students on their Independent Research Projects (IRPs), providing academic and technical guidance.
️ Deliver teaching on visual communication, focusing on data visualisation, storytelling, and communicating complexity.
️ Lead the programme's contribution to RCA2025, the public work-in-progress exhibition, with support from other tutors.
️ Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
Essential experience in
Teaching visual communication, particularly in data visualisation, storytelling, and communicating complexity.
Exhibition design and development.
Knowledge of design futures theory, research, and practice.
Desirable experience in:
AI in design contexts.
Design for policy.
Holding a Master's degree in a related discipline., Disability Confident
