Full Job Description

Preparation for the trauma meeting and ward round in the morning.

To attend the trauma meeting and Post-Take ward rounds with the team to oversee and promote well organised multi-disciplinary care for all trauma patients.

Support the senior trauma nurses with the day-to-day running of the office.

Communicate with inpatients, wards, and departments, as well as patients at home awaiting surgery, utilising excellent telephone skills, face-to-face meetings, and emails in furtherance of the effective management of trauma cases.

Organise initial assessment or follow-up appointments for patients as instructed by the trauma team and clear documentation of trauma meeting outcomes.

Carry out clerical activities associated with the admission, including liaising with the patient/carers to inform of follow-up arrangements and trauma meeting outcomes. The collecting and inputting of data to help focus on service improvement and patient care.

To provide a specialist service, offering support to nursing, medical, and social care colleagues. Providing specialist input in the overall management of care for the trauma patient presenting with complex problems.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our team for two band 4 Associate Trauma Coordinator subject to Agenda for change. We are inviting individuals with a passion for Trauma and Orthopaedics. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Trauma, to be able to optimise patient outcomes, and will display excellent communication skills - both verbal and written. You should be proficient in all areas of nursing care from patient admission to discharge.

The Trauma Coordinator role requires excellent communication and support skills, providing relevant information to patients, families, and carers with regular updates regarding patient management and treatment plans. Through coordination and communication between Multi-Disciplinary teams, your role will be vital to the patient pathway.
