UHB Paediatrics: Where a passion and career come together!
An exciting vacancy has arisen within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust for a qualified and experienced nurse to join the current PATCH (Paediatric Ambulatory Treatment and Care at Home) team.
The successful candidate will be required to work in collaboration with the Paediatric Assessment Units and Inpatient services at Heartlands and Good Hope Hospitals to facilitate early discharge, carry out home based clinical reviews and support hospital admission avoidance for children who live in the surrounding areas.
PATCH is a very well-established service with responsibility for a variety of clinical specialty patients. It is an excellent opportunity to develop clinical, assessment and communication skills. It is anticipated induction and training for successful applicants will be required but hope to attract candidates with a working knowledge of our paediatric areas and processes.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with well-developed clinical skills and who can demonstrate the ability to lone work, trouble shoot and communicate well with the MDT, children and their families. Experience in the community setting and acute paediatric areas is required.
You will practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for delivering safe, compassionate, person centred, evidence-based nursing care.
You will work in accordance with Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines and adhere to the NMC Code at all times.
You will practice in a holistic, non-judgmental, caring and compassionate manner that avoids assumptions, supports social inclusion and recognises and respects individual choice and acknowledges diversity.
Applicants must have an interest in providing care to children and their families in their own homes and an interest in hospital admission avoidance.
You should be able to work across a 7-day service and have regular access to your own vehicle for community visits and cross site travel.
