Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Working as a Speech and Language Therapist as part of the wider MDT within the Community Neurological Conditions Management Team, supporting clients with progressive and acquired neurological needs.
Completing home based assessments as well as seeing clients in out patient settings.
Demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and management of language, communication and swallow problems in adults with acquired disorders an d progressive neurological conditions, providing appropriate intervention and evaluating outcomes, within the community., Working as part of the MDT within the Community Neurological Conditions Management Team, supporting clients with progressive and acquired neurological needs.
You will be expected to hold a community case load and demonstrate specialist clinical expertise in the assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and management of language, communication and swallow problems in adults with acquired disorders, providing appropriate intervention and evaluating outcomes.
As well as being able to communicate complex condition related information from assessment to patients, patients, carers, families and members of the multi-disciplinary team/other professions, demonstrating empathy and ensuring that effective communication is achieved, particularly where barriers to understanding exist.
